Periodontology

Subtitle

We treat gums and the supporting bone, controlling periodontal disease to maintain stable teeth and oral health.

Periodontal treatments can have a biological objective - focussed on treating periodontal disease - or an aesthetic objective, as is the case with periodontal plastic surgery.

Periodontal disease, popularly known as “periodontitis” or “pyorrhoea”, is a chronic and degenerative condition that affects the tissues that support the teeth (gums, bone and periodontal ligament).
Treatment is based on eliminating the main cause of the illness, which is usually bacterial in origin.

Aesthetic periodontal procedures are used to ensure proper gingival harmony and an aesthetic balance between teeth (white) and gums (pink), contributing to a more natural and pleasant smile.

Stage 1: Digital Smile Planning

Through a detailed analysis of photographs and video, a digital smile design is realised.
First we define the ideal shape and proportion of the teeth. Then we determine the correct position of the gums.
Based on this planning, the laboratory transfers these references to the plaster model, where the guide that will guide the gingival correction is created.

2nd Stage: Gingival Remodelling Microsurgery

We use minimally invasive techniques that, in most cases, don't require sutures and don't have to lift the gums.
We use laser, electric scalpel and piezosurgery (ultrasound) to reshape gums and bone, ensuring precision and a more comfortable recovery.

Final Stage

After complete healing, we move on to the final restorative treatment, which can include veneers, dental contact lenses, fragments, crowns or simply whitening - always according to the previously planned design.
